More About
Jennifer L. Giordano, RN, BSN, IBCLC

Owner & Director of Latch With Love, Inc. providing private lactation consultation and management, perinatal classes and support groups. My goal is to assist families in their transition to parenthood and/or expanding their family. I have over twenty years maternal-child nursing experience advocating families receive best care prenatally, during labor & delivery/maternity and postpartum. As an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant, I am recognized as an expert in the field of lactation; teach a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor course nationally and act as Lecturer/Board Advisor for Prepared Childbirth Educators, Inc. This allows me to give optimal care to my breastfeeding families assisting them in meeting and exceeding their breastfeeding goals.
Previously I was the Lactation & Perinatal Education Coordinator for Catholic Health Services, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center. I founded the lactation program which consisted of collaborating with the CHS system interdisciplinary teams, teaching prenatal education classes, providing lactation consultations and support groups. I also initiated the first hospital-based, out-patient private lactation consultation services on Long Island. I have been recognized by the New York State Department of Health for working in the statewide collaborative Breastfeeding Quality Improvements in Hospitalization focusing on increasing hospital breastfeeding exclusivity rates and afterward led St. Catherine Hospital to the Designation Phase of the pathway to becoming Baby-Friendly. Most recently I lectured in the collaborative, Great Beginnings New York: The Future Starts with Breastfeeding and presented a poster at the AWHONN 2014 Convention for a paper I co-wrote entitled, Cultivating Better Outcomes for Mothers and Newborns Through Integrated Best Practice Models. I am currently a member of the Long Island Association of Lactation Providers and Long Island Lactation Consultant Association. I am passionate about proper support and treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and co-founded and facilitated the Mothers’ Circle of Hope Support Group. I was awarded the Pioneer Award by Postpartum Resource Center of New York, Inc. due to these endeavors. I currently practice and reside in Setauket, New York with my family who I adore.
